Metal guide table

Metal guide table (for MS, Aluminium, CI, SS304, SS316)

Metal

Full name

Rusting (long-term)

Food contact suitability

Impact on grinding quality (general)

MS

Mild Steel

Yes (can rust if moisture/contact with water)

Not ideal for direct food contact unless properly coated/painted and maintained

Can add rust risk + contamination if coating wears. Better to use SS for contact parts.

Aluminium

Aluminium

No rust, but can oxidize/mark with some materials

OK for some uses, but not preferred for spices/food contact in heavy grinding

Can react/blacken with some acidic/salty materials; not the best for long-term spice grinding contact parts.

CI

Cast Iron

Yes (can rust; needs care)

Used in some grinding applications, but needs good maintenance

Strong and heavy. If rust forms, it can affect product cleanliness. Needs dry storage + care.

SS304

Stainless Steel 304

Very high rust resistance

Highly recommended for food contact

Best balance for hygiene + durability. Helps keep powder clean.

SS316

Stainless Steel 316

Highest rust/corrosion resistance

Best for food contact (premium)

Best for long life, especially if moisture/salt exposure is higher. Premium hygienic option.
